In my dream…I was Super Dog to the rescue:
Some cuddly sheep were being tormented by a crazed wolf who wanted to make sheep stew! I needed to protect the sheep, but that wily wolf howled, moaned, and growled. He refused to leave my sheep alone! At first I was stupefied by this wily wolf, but I soon learned that I had “Super Powers.” I had courage, good eyesight, a powerful nose, an awesome costume, and eyes that can bore holes right into you! Okay, so maybe not “Super” powers, but I felt heroic! Did you know that staring intently at cuddly sheep is how Border Collies herd them? I think Border Collies are really able to “hypnotize” sheep into submission. I might be able to hypnotize that wily wolf too! And if I succeed in hypnotizing that wily wolf, I’ll make him my servant. He’ll do my laundry and feed my sheep. He might even have to clean out the sheep barn which is mighty smelly, if you know what I mean! In my next dream, I’ll try to hypnotize him! I’ll let you all know how it goes.
But in the meantime, I think I’ll read a couple of good stories about cats. One of my favorite bedtime tales is Hero Cat by Eileen Spinelli. It’s about a cat who rescues her kittens from a fire. I also enjoy Scarlett the Cat to the Rescue: Fire Hero by Nancy Loewen. These stories are about true cat heroes! I guess even cats are brave (just don’t tell them that). I’d hate for my Kitty to think she doesn’t need me to scare away wolves, coyotes, monsters, and aliens!
Did you know that one of my favorite activities is hiking? My upright takes me hiking almost every weekend. We went on a great hike on Saturday to the Horse Thief Falls area. We even took the jeep. My upright buckled me into the jeep with my new Solvit Safety Harness. It’s important to make sure your pet is properly secured in a vehicle when you’re driving. I don’t want to fall out as the jeep bumps down the road! Wooooof!!
